1643-44 Charles I Ormonde Halfcrown
£1,150
Charles I (1625-49), Ormonde Halfcrown, issued 1643-44, large crown above C.R, outer circles and beading surrounding both sides. Rev, II, s above, VI, d above, indicating two shillings and sixpence (S.6545; cf DF 292; Bull 10)
An extraordinary example, with an almost milled like appearance with so much outer edge beading visible. As these are essentially siege pieces and struck often rather hastily you rarely see such neat examples. For issue Good Very fine and rare this choice.
