Charles I (1625 - 49), Oxford Mint (1642 - 46) Shilling, 1646, mm. plume/floriated cross, large Oxford bust l., value behind head, rev. Declaration in three lines, three Shrewsbury plumes above with row of annulets, date divided by annulets below (S.2978; N.2454; JGB.947 [same dies]).
Some weakness in places as usual for this issue. The portrait very clear albeit the obverse die somewhat rusted. Overall a very strong and attractive specimen, good very fine + and very rare.
