REX., rev., Oval garnished shield CHRISTO. AVSPICE. REGNO., mm Lion (Bull 551; Besly 1-B; Brooker 1077, Hawkins 2; N.2310; S.2864) weight 14.08 grams.
A most appealing Very Fine +, with a bold horseman. It's worth noting the different style displayed on these early issue York Halfcrowns to the later issued types. These appear to have a least have been engraved by a different hand than Briot’s.
